Kasper and Clay is a community ceramics studio and education space based in Pontiac, Michigan. Founded by ceramic artist and educator Brooke Herzing, the studio is dedicated to thoughtful, process-driven ceramics education rooted in material knowledge, technical rigor, and experimentation.
At Kasper and Clay, clay is approached as both a functional and conceptual medium. Classes and workshops are designed to support beginners through advanced makers, with an emphasis on building strong technical foundations while encouraging individual voice and inquiry. Instruction is led by practicing artists who value curiosity, problem-solving, and sustained engagement with material.
The studio serves as a space for learning, making, and connection—supporting artists at all stages through structured classes, workshops, and shared resources. Kasper and Clay exists to foster a deeper relationship to clay, craft, and contemporary ceramic practice within an inclusive and supportive community.
